Scientific Research

Here great importance is attached to scientific research, especially basic research and applied research. Currently, a scientific research team with more than 1,000 scientific research faculty has been formed, including over five hunderd professors and associate professors. During the 60-year span, our university has a Sino-Russian Science and Technology Cooperation Base in Shenyang (of national level), a key laboratory of national high-tech development program 863, twelve key laboratories and engineering centers of provincial and ministerial levels.

Since the year 2000, we have undertaken National-level Projects 973 and 863, with 33 projects of National Science Foundation in China; 1383 projects have been undertaken, including national defense program commissioned by General Armament Department, Industries Group Corporation, province-level and ministry-level projects and projects commissioned by enterprises. Among these, 235 of them passed the provincial and municipal tests; 192 of them got the national defense and provincial Advanced Technology Award and other achievement prizes; 284 of them got national invention patents. According to the statistics of Science of Technology Development Center of Ministry of Education, our university ranks the 42nd among all the universities nationwide in the patent authorization and the 2nd in Liaoning Province in the same aspect. 409 monographs and textbooks are brought out, and 6312 academic theses are published, among which 538 are included by SCI, EI and ISTP. Our university establishes the opening-up strategies of revitalization and strengthens the international cooperation in the scientific field. Special attention is paid to the introduction of Russian science and technology as wll as cooperation. Based on the Sino-Russian base of scientific and technological cooperation, five laboratories such as high-energy beam lab, the laser lab and wind lab are established.

The scientific research level of our universitof our universit is increasingly elevated and the research field enlarged, concerning advanced manufacturing, mechatronics engineering, automation control, computer science and technology, electronic engineering, communication engineering, materials science and engineering, chemical engineering, modern equipment and so on. In recent years, in such fields as new energy, energy and environment conservation, new materials, cyber communication and network engineering, a series of new scientific achievements are obtained.
